movement & intention

with kamilah & justine

about four months ago

kamilah connected with me on my personal blog and i cannot be more grateful and happy that she did.

i met kam years ago and i remember instantly connecting, being drawn to her energy, and knowing she is someone i could be good friends with.

life happened; I moved away, she moved away.

fast forward

to march 19 2019 where we spent 3 hours walking along the seawall talking about our journey, our darkness, our struggles, our dreams, our relationships, our past, our future, our goals, our perspectives and desires.

even though we didn’t keep in touch, our lives have seemed to have travelled at a parallel; we overcame, and navigated through similar life experiences.

thank you for sharing your journey with me. i get goosebumps thinking about how much we both have achieved in our lives individually, and how much more we can potentially achieve together in the future.

fast forward again

to july 16 2019 where we meet again for the third time to hash out how we can use our experiences to help other females.

we know what we want to do, we know how we want to do it, the only thing left to do is to do it.

our vision

a safe place for women to connect, empower and support each other through movement

our why

because we don’t have to do this alone, we can lean on each other, we can share experiences

our how

a whatsapp group for women to connect and share

our what

bi-weekly weeknight meet ups involving some kind of movement

our purpose

kamilah and i both grew up in competitive artistic sports and while being in that environment helped us develop some of our best traits, provided us with some of our happiest most memorable moments, it also contributed to some of our darkest toughest times.

we both spent the last number of years navigating a lot of those dark, hard times alone. we both have reached a place where we are stable enough on more days than not to share all the things that worked for us, what didn’t work with other females

because we don’t have to do this alone.

we have struggled with and will probably continue to struggle with things like body image, eating disorders, self worth, self confidence, and relationships because you don’t just get over it. we just know that we will learn better ways to handle and adapt to the s*** life throws at us.

we no longer believe that we have to do it alone and neither do you.

don’t do this alone, join us by reaching out to one of us.
