An amazing first gran fondo training ride with the perfect amount of rolling hills. 49km & 850m elevation from Olympic Village to Lighthouse Park.
Definitely a ride I would do again.
we all have choices.
we could have let the rain change our plans. we could have decided to stay inside warm, dry, wished it was sunny and waited for a better day.
instead we decided to make the most of our day and biked 40km to Deep Cove from Olympic Village in the rain just for a donut. we got soaked and it got cold but we enjoyed every moment of it because we made the effort to choose.
Definitely a ride I would do again.
Second Gran fondo training ride from Olympic Village to Belcarra, 64.8km and 1,003m elevation gain. First part of the ride was gruelling, both of us thought we wouldn't be able to make it, our body's hurt and were hungry. Determined, we made it to white pine beach, ate lunch, stretched, took a nap and then rode home. The ride back was much easier with a full belly.
Definitely a ride I would do again.
Indoor cycling, my worse nightmare, you couldn't pay me to go until I rode with the stages flight bikes. Being able to see how hard you are working and know what zones you are in is a game changer. I use to hate cycling indoors because I never knew how hard to push but with the stages flight, I know if i am working hard enough or too hard. My legs still hate me though.
